Reserveage Organics, a manufacturer of health supplements specializing in resveratrol, will begin utilizing rice bran and silica instead of dicalcium phosphate and magnesium stearate in its products. Rice bran and silica are effective excipients that prevent caking of the ingredients. During manufacturing the fillers allow the ingredients to move throughout the machines effectively while guaranteeing product excellence.
“We are always researching the best ways to improve our products, and modifying our formulas to include rice bran produces superior supplements," said Naomi Whittel, founder and CEO of Reserveage. “The blend of rice bran and silica protects and ensures the quality of the ingredients to guarantee the efficacy of each Reserveage formula."
Rice bran is a by-product of the rice milling process, and it contains various antioxidants, vitamins and omegas. Rice bran is found between the inner white rice grain and the outer hull, and accounts for 60 percent of the nutrients found in each rice kernel. Resveratrol is a whole-body antioxidant found in the stems, seeds and skin of red wine grapes and has been proven in clinical studies to activate the SIRT1 ‘longevity gene,’ which could possibly inhibit age-related diseases.
