Question: You need to avoid food with excessive idione.Dairy has excessive idione, so you need to avoid that. The idione in dairy comes from the chemicals used to clean the cow milking equipment. You should not have any IODIZED salt AT ALL. Non-iodized salt is fine, as long as salt is otherwise ok for you. If you have high blood pressure, for example, you need to avoid salt entirely, both iodized and non-iodized.Watch out for your vitamins, if you take them. Don't take any with idione added. Read labels carefully, and switch to a vitamin with no idione. You need to start reading ingredient labels on everything. Avoid anything with kelp, or carageenan. You really do need to cut the caffeine, and the alcohol too. This is because both interfere with your sleep. It's hard enough to sleep when you have hyperthyroidism. Caffeine also contributes to your heart palpitations and tachycardia that you are probably experienceing.

Question: The formula is great. Our babeis like it, it's organic, and the can isn't lined with plastic, so there's less chance of it containing BPA. Now, although the product is great, we've had problems with Amazon shipping it to us. They put 8 cans in an oversize box without enough padding so they were moving around and banging into each other. Of the 8 cans, 6 were dented. Of the 6 dented cans 3 had opened, exposing the formula to air and spilling some out. We've ordered this from another online retailer before and the packaging was great. Four cans to a box and 2 boxes to a larger shipping box. Amazon is a bit cheaper and they have the subscription service which makes it convenient, but that's only if you don't have to deal with several cans in each shipment being unusable. If they can improve the shipping, we highly recommend this product, especially the subscription service.

Question: 1. Sclerotherapy. In this procedure, your dotcor injects small- and medium-sized varicose veins with a solution that scars and closes those veins. In a few weeks, treated varicose veins should fade. Although the same vein may need to be injected more than once, sclerotherapy is effective if done correctly. Sclerotherapy doesn't require anesthesia and can be done in your dotcor's office.2. Laser surgeries. Doctors are using new technology in laser treatments to close off smaller varicose veins and spider veins. Laser surgery works by sending strong bursts of light onto the vein, which makes the vein slowly fade and disappear. No incisions or needles are used.3. Catheter-assisted procedures. In one of these treatments, your dotcor inserts a thin tube (catheter) into an enlarged vein and heats the tip of the catheter. As the catheter is pulled out, the heat destroys the vein by causing it to collapse and seal shut. This procedure is usually done for larger varicose veins.4. Vein stripping. This procedure involves removing a long vein through small incisions. This is an outpatient procedure for most people. Removing the vein won't affect circulation in your leg because veins deeper in the leg take care of the larger volumes of blood.

Question: As founders of Tripawds.com, the world's lagsert community for canine amputees (most of whom are battling bone cancers) since 2006, we've reviewed many different books about canine cancer. Dr. Dressler and Dr. Ettinger's book, the Dog Cancer Survival Guide, is absolutely the most informative, comprehensive and useful book that we've seen. The sad fact is, dog cancer is the number one disease killer for canines. Until there is a cure, we as pet guardians must serve as our dog's 1 health advocate. Whether or not our dog currently has cancer, this book is a must-have for us all.Dr. Dressler's first edition of The Dog Cancer Survival Guide has been one of our most highly-recommended reading materials since it was first published a few years ago. The newest edition is even better and more comprehensive. In a nutshell, here's why we think everyone with a dog should read this book. You'll learn: Why and how you should cope with your own emotions before embarking on your canine cancer research The latest discoveries about cancer's origins, treatments and cures, all written in an easy-to-understand format for the layperson All of the most promising holistic therapies that are proving helpful in treating dog cancer How to talk to veterinary professionals, friends and family about your treatment choices and what you're experiencing When to make end of life decisions and how to cope with griefThis 400 page textbook is jam packed with the latest information about conventional treatments and helpful holistic therapies that anyone with any budget can pursue. You'll get a comprehensive description of different dog cancers and related treatments, as well as a thorough appendix filled with information about published dog cancer studies you can share with your veterinarian.Dog Cancer Survival Guide's information is grounded in reality and doesn't make any promises that it will cure your dog's cancer. But Dressler's strong sense of empathy and wisdom extends a guiding hand to readers that's so desperately needed when faced with canine cancer. You'll feel empowered, hopeful, grounded in reality and ready to face whatever comes next with the same Zen attitude as your canine hero.A big shout out goes to both docs for giving pawrents the layperson's first authoritative, empathetic and hopeful tool available for coping with canine cancer. Question: From Wikipedia:IGF-1 deficiency is asaicosted with neurodegenerative disease, cardiovascular diseases, heart failure, and shorter life span. The IGF signaling pathway appears to play a crucial role in cancer. Several studies have shown that increased levels of IGF lead to an increased risk of cancer. Studies done on lung cancer cells show that drugs inhibiting such signaling can be of potential interest in cancer therapy. Also, IGF-1 is a stimulator of cell growth and proliferation, and a potent inhibitor of programmed cell death. Mechanically, makes sense that increased IGF-1 is a risk factor. I haven't looked into it at all, but I'm assuming these studies are all observational, same type of studies that show the higher your vitamin D levels, the less likely you are to develop certain types of cancer. Same types of studies exist for vitamin K intake increased intake, decreased risk. Putting two and two together, I wonder if there are some studies that show higher levels of vitamin D are asaicosted with higher levels IGF-1 and inversely asaicosted with cancer risk? Anyone want to go digging? Curious small contradiction. Another thought: if A influences B and A influences C, and B influences C independently, A is still the overriding power, no? In this case, A is vitamin D, vitamin K and calcium. Your thoughts?

Question: I actually just had to throw out dill pieclks they actually turned. They barely kept from disintegrating upon touch, and they tasted more of vinegar than briny pickle.I didn't think pieclks ever, ever went bad . . . I thought that was the definition of pickle. Oh, well.Of course, now my son eats pieclks like they were made especially for him. When he feels like it.And I shudder to think what my fridge would be like if I had random family members storing stuff for future visits.
