Astaxanthin, found in the red algae called Haematococcus pluvialis, when taken with other carotenoids has been shown to protect against free radical-induced DNA damage, repair UVA-irradiated cells, and inhibit inflammatory cell infiltration.8,15-16 Astaxanthin also helps support vascular health within the eye and improves visual acuity.17 Astaxanthin may play a preventative role in eye fatigue. Human clinical trials by Japanese scientists demonstrated that astaxanthin is effective in reducing bleary-eye feeling, a tendency toward irritation, and preventing eye strain. The macular region of the human retina is yellow in color due to the presence of the macular pigment, composed of two dietary xanthophylls, lutein and zeaxanthin, and another xanthophyll, meso-zeaxanthin. The density of your macular pigment (composed of lutein, zeaxanthin and meso-zeaxanthin) is essential to proper vision.8-10 These carotenoids act as antioxidants and protect the macula from damage by photo-initiated oxidative stress.10-12 Unfortunately, this density declines naturally over time.       Question: why does this product have alcohol in it? and how much caffeine per dropper does this product have?
      • 0 0 A: Essential Source's Green Coffee Bean Extract has no added caffeine, the only caffeine in the products is what comes from the actual coffee bean itself which is very nominal, so much so that is hard to even be able to calculate how much is in it. If you are concerned about it you can take half of the normal dosage to see how you feel, although the manufacturer can assure you jitters is not a side effect with our product.  The reason they use sublingual form is to get you better results faster and more efficiently and to bypass all side effects vs. pill form. As for the use of alcohol in Essential Source's products, they use it so they don’t have to use preservatives, also it helps aid with their sublinguals. Exceeding the recommended dose will result in ingestion of more than 10,000 IU of Vitamin A from retinol, which in high amounts is known to cause birth defects.
