    • 0 0 A: Unfortunately natural supplements are not regulated like the pharmaceutical industry is. I have provided you some information from the FDA website that may be able to clarify this for you. What is FDA's role in regulating dietary supplements versus the manufacturer's responsibility for marketing them? In October 1994, the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) was signed into law by President Clinton. Before this time, dietary supplements were subject to the same regulatory requirements as were other foods. This new law, which amended the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, created a new regulatory framework for the safety and labeling of dietary supplements.Under DSHEA, a firm is responsible for determining that the dietary supplements it manufactures or distributes are safe and that any representations or claims made about them are substantiated by adequate evidence to show that they are not false or misleading. This means that dietary supplements do not need approval from FDA before they are marketed. Except in the case of a new dietary ingredient, where pre-market review for safety data and other information is required by law, a firm does not have to provide FDA with the evidence it relies on to substantiate safety or effectiveness before or after it markets its products.Also, manufacturers need to register themselves pursuant to the Bioterrorism Act with FDA before producing or selling supplements.     • 0 0 A: The manufacture does not state any information about the consumption and alcohol with this supplement. Though there are no warnings, alcohol inhibits the breakdown of nutrients into usable molecules by decreasing secretion of digestive enzymes from the pancreas (2). Alcohol impairs nutrient absorption by damaging the cells lining the stomach and intestines and disabling transport of some nutrients into the blood (3). In addition, nutritional deficiencies themselves may lead to further absorption problems. For example, folate deficiency alters the cells lining the small intestine, which in turn impairs absorption of water and nutrients including glucose, sodium, and additional folate (3). Even if nutrients are digested and absorbed, alcohol can prevent them from being fully utilized by altering their transport, storage, and excretion (4).     Question: Why are you selling a supplement from a company that has been involved in adulterating their supplements with drugs. Put WOWinto the FDA's website www.fda.gov, and you will see that not only have people experienced serious adverse events, but there have been deaths associated with their products. They are full of drugs!!! Don't you test the products you sell? Outrageous. Health Canada just announced the same warnings to consumers, yet to run ads on your website and promote these dangerous drugs, masquerading as dietary supplements. Shame on you and your company!!
    • 0 0 A: I understand your concern and hopefully I can clarify this supplement for you. This product is actually a completely different product than the one shown on fda.gov. This supplement is a colon cleanser and comes from a company called Roex located in the US. The product labeled "Wow" on the FDA.gov website comes from a company by the name of Riger Naturals in Mexico and is labeled to treat conditions such as arthritis and bone cancer.
