This is demonstrated in trials for the treatment of neuropathy, which lasted up to 12 weeks, in which objective improvement was not observed but clear subjective improvement was present, even in double-blind studies. It is unrealistic to expect dramatic effects in weeks, since diabetic complications develop over years and decades.
