The story is all to familiar. It started with a headache after dinner, then a stuffy or runny nose. You couldn't sleep and just feel miserable all over. You call the doctor and make an appointment, thinking it is the flu or whatever is going around. You go in the next day and the doctor cannot find anything wrong. You go to work. You go out with friends for some pizza and a glass of wine. Once again, you feel lousy. Headache, stomach cramps and you go home to bed. Hopefully, you will feel better in the morning.
The next day a friend tells you about his sister who was diagnosed with food intolerance. What's that you ask. He describes the symptoms; headache, stomach cramps, congestion. She couldn't figure it out until she realised that it was linked to the food she was eating. She went to a specialist who told her to stop eating many of the foods that she loved, e.g. tomatoes, cheese, red wine and fish. She learned of a whole list of foods that are high in histamine and may cause all kinds of discomfort and health problems if your body does not tolerate them well.
If you suspect you have a histamine intolerance, consult with a pharmacist or go and see your doctor. Seek their advise on how to test for a food intolerance. The symptoms may be very similar to those brought on by other medical conditions, so you should not assume you have a histamine intolerance when there may be something else causing a problem.
You and your doctor may determine that the best course is to try a histame free diet. Easy! Until you discover that all your favorite foods are on the no-no list.
Put those no foods back on your yes list! The solution may be a new dietary supplement and enzyme developed to increase your ability to digest and regulate histame in the lower intestine.
DAO Histamine Digester by Nutricology contains diamine oxidase (DAO), an intestinal enzyme that digests histamine. The body produces DAO to digest excess food-derived histamine in the lower intestine. The formula is enhanced with rutin and quercetin.
Suggested use: As a dietary supplement, 1 or 2 capsules daily with histamine-rich foods, or as directed by a healthcare professional.

Each capsule contains tiny little pellets. These micro pellets need to be stomach-acid resistant so they are delivered into the small intestine with DAO enzyme in tact. The added ingredients are used as a coating and in minute amounts. The small intestine is the native location of residence of DAO, so the supplement aids the body's own DAO expressed by the small intestinal mucosa. The "other" ingredients are present to protect and stabilize the enzyme so it does not degrade before it enters the small intestine. Feedback is very positive for those sensitive individuals using DAO Histamine Blocker. DAOsin® is a registered trademark of Sciotec Diagnostic Technologies, Austria.
