Question: I read somewhere someone recommending this type of Chromium. I used to take Chromium GTF. I am just wondering why they would compound it with yeast if people should avoid yeast? (Candida?) Was wondering how the yeast, in this case, was beneficial. I see many Chromium GTF's WITHOUT yeast. Thank you.

A:
Nutritional yeast (Saccharomyces Cerevisiae) is a rich food source of chromium naturally bound to protein and vitamins that improve its utilization. Nutritional yeast is a health food. Yeast would only need to be avoided if a person is allergic/hypersensitive to it. It is a fallacy that eating nutritional yeast causes yeast infections. It is not the same yeast (Candida) that inhabits the intestinal and vaginal tracts.
