    Question: Will this prevent sinus infections and upper respiratory tract Infections? I have bronchial asthma and am very sensitive to hot cold humid weather and very cold weather causing these infections mentioned above several times a year. Can elderberry be takenwith echinaforce and can echinaforce be taken all winter or only for I have heard?
    • 0 0 A: Current folk or traditional uses of elderberry and elder flower include flu, colds, fevers, constipation, and sinus infections. Studies have shown that a standardized elderberry liquid extract displays antimicrobial effects against the Gram-positive bacteria Streptococcus pyogenes and group C and G Streptococci, and the Gram-negative bacterium Branhamella catarrhalis, which often cause infections of the upper respiratory tract.  I do not see any warnings against taking these supplements (echinaforce and elderberry extract) year around or together. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3056848/

    Question: are there any reports or studies that indicate the possibility of diarrhea when taking the prescribed amount of this vitamin?

    • 0 0 A: Yes, it does come in liquid form. For children 1–5 years old the dosage is 1/4 teaspoon, 2–3 times daily. For children over 5 years the dosage is 1/2 teaspoon, 2–3 times daily. May be mixed with water, juice, or taken directly. Though I do not see any warnings against using this supplement for Autistic children, if you are further concerned, you may want to ask your physician.  Vote down - Vote up
